Educational Philosophy

Mission statement

吾道一貫(Go Dou Ikkan)is derived from the Analects of Confucius about 吾道一以貫之 “All-pervading Unity”means a way of developing the human ideal personality through the concept of 仁(じん)(Jin)(Human-heartedness) or 忠恕 (ちゅうじょ)(Chujo)(Sincere and Devoted).
The 仁(じん)(Jin) (Human-heartedness) which is construed in modern times , means to act with self-awareness as a member of society and to be rewritten this into goals of specific action that turn into 忠恕 (ちゅうじょ) (Chujo) (Sincere and Devoted).
忠恕(ちゅうじょ)(Chujo), 忠 (ちゅう)(Chu) means being sincere and devoted, concerns the “Self”, and 恕(じょ)(Jo) means benevolent exercise of the principle to others by being compassionate, concerns the “Other”.
The main social responsibility of a human being is to know how to discipline himself/herself without causing trouble to his fellow individual. However, if you achieve this, it does not mean you will achieve all the social responsibilities. Only then if you contribute something to a person, you will be able to accomplish social responsibility for yourself. In other words, 忠(ちゅう)(Chu)is to practice self-judgement and to perform contribution to the society in accordance with different point of views. However, humans are not perfect beings, so there are such cases that humans are not enough to fulfill all the social responsibilities. If it is only for the sake of ourselves, strict self-reflection and self-improvement must be accomplished. However, if it is for the sake of others, in an unexpected circumstances that there is no such a way, you should look for a way that both of you are improving as a human being and as fellow without blaming imperfections. This is the spirit of 恕 (じょ)(Jo).
The founding of Myojo Gakuen School Corporation Urawa Gakuin High School has its main objective in nurturing the people in terms of unity, by being sincere and devoted to others.

克己 仁愛 共生

克己 (こっき)(Kokki) is to control the self-centered (egocentric) desire to live together with fellow comrades, and serves as means to live as a member of the society living together harmoniously. It is being established by parting roles that exist and must share in a particular time and place.
In order to have a harmonious social life, we must know the time, place, and our stand points in order to take appropriate actions.

仁愛 (じんあい)(Jinai)means being aware that you are being supported by many people and understanding that you also support your fellow. As a member of the society, it serves as a motivation to have a harmonious relationship together.
Humans cannot live alone. No matter how strongly humans are, humans cannot grow stronger by themselves. The support of many people to get its strength should be gained to everyone.

共生 (きょうせい)(Kyousei)can be obtained to a person who lives with others. All human beings are desired to have a harmonious coexistence with a sense of camaraderie. Humans stabilize their life in cooperation of forming a society aiming to live well. Humans come to pursue each dream and hope by taking hand in hand with other people around them. However, what is achieved, even if it is owned, unless it cannot be recognized and pleased together by the people around you, it cannot be defined as true happiness. Happiness is the prerequisite of the purpose of life to attain true happiness in life. The true happiness defined as simply realizing personal desires is obtained to a person who considers that living with others is worth irreplaceable.
